Mrs. M. Knight submitted this recipe for homemade sausage puffs for the Dec. 13, 1949 edition of The Townsite Reporter.
1 lb link sausage
2 cups milk
2 tsp sausage drippings
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp salt
Cook sausages in frying pan until done. Arrange in greased baking dish (about 8 x12in). Beat eggs until foamy. Stir in milk and sausage drippings. Sift flour and salt together, add to egg mixture. Beat with rotary beater 1 minutes, or until no lumps remain. Pour batter over sausages in baking pan.
Bake 20 minutes in 450°F oven. Reduce heat to moderate oven 350°F and bake 25 minutes longer.
