Meet Tamsyn (pronounced "tam-zin"). The latest UK transplant to join the team, she heads up our sales department, building strong relationships with our visitors and members while maintaining community and industry partnerships that help Britannia Mine Museum grow.
Who: Tamsyn JenkinsRole: Manager of Sales and Development
What is your role at the Museum?
I'm the Sales and Development Manager. I oversee the Sales Department, which focuses on group, school and travel and trade visitors. I also manage memberships and development.
What brought you here?
I'm originally from the UK and moved to Canada in '99. I have a background in tourism and non-profit management, having worked in Club Med, Whistler and many other non-profit organizations.
You live in Squamish. What do you love about it?
I love how family-friendly Squamish is, and how easy it is to get outside and do things. I love to mountain bike, windsurf, camp in the summer and ski in the winter.

How did you get involved with the Museum?
Ironically, I also studied Geography and Geology in college and have spent many hours studying rocks and fossils! Living in Squamish, and with my background, I was so excited when this position was posted last year at the Museum.
What's your favourite thing about what you do?
This role is very busy and varied. I love that every day is different. We have a great team here!
Your focus is membership. Why should someone get a membership to Britannia Mine Museum?
Getting a membership to the Britannia Mine Museum is not only a great way to support the Museum, but, with unlimited entry throughout the year (including events!), it's an affordable way to take advantage of the ongoing events and activities that are informative and fun for the entire family!
