Live in the Lab for Earth Day - Mini Mud Monsters!
To celebrate Earth Day on the 22nd of April, the Museum will be offering two special Live in the Lab sessions on Saturday, with our popular interactive, Mini Mud Monsters!
All kinds of strange creatures hide in the depths of our freshwater ecosystems. Using the power of magnification, an Interpreter will introduce you to some of the miniature mud monsters that live at the bottoms of creeks, rivers, and wetlands. These animals may be tiny, but they can tell us surprising amount about the health of their environments. After the program, kids will be given a take-home craft kit to make their own mini mud monster!
Date: April 24
Time: 11.45am and 1pm
Location: The Terra Lab.
Cost: Included with Museum Admission
From April to September, the Museum will be open exclusively to members from 9 am to 10:30 am on the second Saturday of every month.
Mining is one of BC’s largest and oldest industries. The Museum has several fun and educational activities planned to spotlight different aspects of the Britannia Mine's past.
Calling all Science Detectives! The Museum would like to invite all of our young science detectives to join us for our Monthly Magnifier. We have introduced a range of new educational programs, aimed at helping homeschooling parents and children with subjects that are often unfamiliar or challenging to teach, with the aim of enhancing the educational experience of families while they are touring the Museum.
