We believe in mining the entertainment value in every educational experience. It's just one way our talented professional management team and staff come together to create a world-class learning destination. Here are just a few of the many people behind the scenes at the Britannia Mine Museum:

Kirstin Clausen
Executive Director
With over 25 years experience as a Museum curator, educator and administrator, Kirstin combines her love of history with the arts to promote the Museum as a vibrant and relevant landmark in the community. She provides operational oversight and is responsible for the implementation of long term strategic plans relating to the Museum programs and services.

Carol Watts
Director of Operations
Joining the Museum in 2004, Carol brought significant experience in retail and guest services. She is responsible for the day to day operation of the site and amenities. She is the retail buyer, filming and special events coordinator.

Katherine Flett
Marketing Director
Katherine has won awards both locally and internationally over her 20-year career in marketing and communications. She brings with her the commitment and vision required to build awareness and visitation. Along with directing the Museum's marketing strategy, Katherine works with the publicist, Yvonne Chiang to ensure a high profile within the media.

Diane Mitchell
Curator of Education & Collections
With a background in geology, Diane spent 12 years working for the National Museums of Scotland, before moving to BC to take up this position in 2007. Diane is responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of school and education programs including exhibits. She also oversees research initiatives and the Collections management of geology specimens, archives and mining artifacts.

Deanna Bell
Director, Sales and Business Development
Deanna joined the Museum in 2010 bringing with her 25 years of sales and tourism industry experience. She is responsible for admission sales from local businesses and tour segments. In addition, Deanna oversees business development in general including the Museum's individual and corporate membership program. As a Squamish resident, Deanna is proud to promote a world class attraction and National Historic Site that is located in her backyard.

Maggie MacKinnon
Accounting Manager
Maggie joined the Museum in 2005 as the Accounting Manager with 8 years of experience in the financial field. She is responsible for account payables and receivables, human resource management and assisting with the implementation of strategic business plans.

Fiona McDonald
Groups and Education Sales Specialist
Fiona joined us in 2011 as Groups and Education Sales Specialist from an extensive background in business sales, customer management and education. She handles all our schools and group bookings and supports sales and business development activities in the corridor. A cultural explorer herself, Fiona is delighted to help the Museum tell its rich mining, community and environmental story.

Kevin David Meisner
Education Coordinator
With an academic background in psychology and mathematics, Kevin brought his passion for education to the Museum in 2007. He is responsible for the development of the Museum’s school and education programs and displays as well as training our Interpreters. Committed to life-long learning, he is currently working towards his Master’s in Museum Education.

Michael Wilcox
Lead Interpreter - Programming
After attending the University of Victoria, Michael came to the Museum in 2011 because of his passion for educational programming. He began as an Interpreter where his passion and skills saw him quickly promoted, first to Lead Interpreter, then more recently in 2014 to Public Programmer. His particular interest lies in science related programming at the high school level.

James E Wilson
Tourism and Membership Relations
James joined the Museum in 2015 to maintain and grow individual and corporate membership, donor and tourism industry relations. Prior, James has enjoyed working in industry, commerce and the charitable sector and has a special interest in customer relationship management, sales and development. He is excited to be sharing the story and promoting all that is amazing at the Museum with local and international supporters, visitors and learners.
