The Britannia Mine Museum provides visitors with a unique blend of experiences--as a tourist attraction and an education venue that allows guests to leave with a better understanding of Britannia’s storied past, and the relevance of modern mining. We strongly believe in our vision and our mission; it matters to us that people become aware of the importance of modern mining and the story of Britannia Beach.
The Museum is a nonprofit, self supporting organization. Memberships and donations, along with ticket sales, and gift shop purchases provide the revenue required to operate. In addition, your support funds research and execution of our comprehensive educations programs, art exhibits that encourage dialog and awareness about topics linked to the Museum’s mission, and collections care of our artifacts and archives.
Our most recent fundraising initiative is dedicated to producing the Mill Show -- an exciting multi-sensory show inside the historic Mill. It is because of the efforts of our fund-raising committee and the generous donors that this is made possible. To learn more about this show, please click here.
Previous initiatives such as the Britannia Project would not have been possible without the support of our donors, board and as well government funding for this particular project.
Thank you for supporting us in our efforts to make mining relevant and fun.
