Britannia offers visitors plenty of things to see and do. From guided underground tours to self-led exploration of the social history of Britannia Beach. The 10-acre site is itself an exhibit providing unique access to an important piece of Canadian history.

The Underground Tour

Board our mine train and rumble inside an early haulage tunnel. An extraordinary opportunity to see what life was like at one the British Empire's largest copper mines. We’re proud to offer guests access to this Canadian Signature Experience.

BOOM! Interactive Experience

Discover a thrilling light, sound and special effects experience inside the historic Mill No 3. Boom brings all 20-storeys back to life, sharing the Mill's captivating story and its thunderous roar.

Welcome

Admission to the Britannia Mine Museum includes a guided underground tour, historical exhibits, gold panning, the award-winning film Ground Breaking and our newest attraction BOOM!

New safety protocols mean that we have reduced site capacity. Booking your admission time online prior to your visit is highly recommended to avoid disappointment. We cannot guarantee availability for walk-up traffic. Masks are mandatory in the underground for adults and children over 5. Museum are not currently included in the Provincial Health Order requiring visitors to need a vaccine passport. The Province is consulting with the sector on potential future inclusion.

With so much to see you may want to allow 1.5 - 2 hours for your visit.

Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your admissions reservation time to allow time to explore the Visitors Centre and make your way to the train pavilion for your guided underground tour.
