Easter Underground Adventure


Venture underground on a guided seasonal tour that blends Britannia’s mining history with interactive discovery.

Equipped with flashlights, families become part of the mining crew as they spot glowing clues in the tunnels, learn why copper can appear blue or gold, and explore how diamond drills were used to extract core samples and “read” the mountain.

Along the way, young explorers take part in hands-on teamwork challenges inspired by real mining techniques.

Each child receives a piece of a real mineral to take home, making this immersive underground experience both educational and memorable.

Site Wide Scavenger Hunt


Set off on a self led, site-wide scavenger hunt designed to take explorers across the museum grounds - from the Terra Lab to the Pavilion, Machine Shop, Core Sheds, and beyond.

At each station, guests will use a crayon rubbing technique to reveal part of a hidden message, uncovering clues as they go.

Follow the message to its final destination and discover a mineral reward waiting at the end.

Interactive, hands-on, and perfect for curious minds, this reimagined scavenger hunt encourages observation, exploration, and a little detective work along the way.

Live in the Lab: Secret Identities

Daily Drop-In between 11:00am - 3:00pm

This Easter, put on your scientist hat and discover that minerals have secrets of their own! In this hands-on lab experience, guests step into the role of Britannia’s historic assayers to uncover what minerals truly are beneath the surface.

Through interactive tests like streak, hardness, and safe acid reactions, young explorers will reveal surprising properties that can’t be seen at first glance. Special demonstrations, including glowing fluorescence under blacklight, add an extra spark of discovery.

It’s science, curiosity, and a little bit of wonder - all wrapped into one engaging lab adventure.
