There are two ways to explore Britannia Mine Museum, depending on how much time you have and what kind of adventure you are looking for.
General Admission: Underground and BOOM! is our full Museum experience. Enjoy a 75-minute guided experience, including the underground train tour and the award-winning, multi-sensory BOOM! show inside Mill No. 3. After your guided tour, explore the historic site, visit our exhibits, heritage buildings, and try your luck at gold panning.
Museum Site Including BOOM! is a great option for guests who want to explore the Museum site without the guided underground train tour. Enjoy the exhibits, try your luck at gold panning, and explore the historic buildings at your own pace. During our award winning, multi-sensory BOOM! show in Mill No. 3, a guide will be present to help bring the Mill’s history, stories, and impressive machinery to life.
Whether you are here for the full underground adventure or a shorter visit above ground, there is plenty to discover for curious kids, history lovers, and explorers of all ages.
We recommend allowing 1.5 to 3 hours for your visit. Reservations are highly recommended.

Temporary Changes to Your Museum Experience – August 2026
On August 13, 15, 17, and 25, the Mill Building and BOOM! Show will be temporarily unavailable. The Museum Site (including underground tours), Chatterbox Café, and Company Store will remain open, and guests are invited to enjoy the Underground Tour and Museum Site at a special 20% discounted admission rate. This experience is now available to book online, and we look forward to welcoming you.
