Visitors to the Britannia Mine Museum (BMM) assume all risk of personal injury, death or property loss resulting from any cause whatsoever including but not limited to the risks, dangers or hazards from being on an historic industrial mining site, travel within or beyond the public site boundaries, breach of contract or breach of statutory duty of care on the part of the BMM. The BMM collectively refers to the BMM, the Britannia Mine Museum Society (BMS) and their employees, agents, independent contractors, subcontractors, representatives, successors, sponsors and assigns. We do not take a deposit; payment is required on arrival at the Museum. Please make one payment per group, we accept VISA, Mastercard or cheque made out to Britannia Mine Museum. If paying by pre-issued cheque please note we do not refund the difference if your numbers are less on arrival. Payment is based on actual number in your group unless your group has dropped greater than the allowed 15% reduction. In which case you will be charged your finally agreed numbers that were confirmed two weeks prior to your visit less 15%.
Coupons/memberships and promotional offers may not be used with school rates.
There is no limit on the number of adults you may bring over and above the free adult ratio. Our discounted group rate of $30.75 + tax applies to each extra adult above the free adult ratio. Depending on numbers, extra adults may need to join a public underground tour rather than the school underground group.
In cases of extreme winter weather, if snow or ice is safely navigable and roads are treated sufficiently (gritted/plowed), then Britannia Mine Museum (BMM) expects schools to arrive on their booked date.
Please visit www.drivebc.com for up to date conditions. Britannia Mine Museum bases its decisions if the road is safe/open or not on this website.
If roads are impassable or dangerous, then BMM will not charge the Cancellation Fee or No Show Fee, and will rebook you to a later available date.
1-2 days before, if extreme conditions are forecast, and likely to mean roads will be impassable or dangerous, please contact our Groups & Education Booking Coordinator about rearranging the date. We will not cancel or reschedule bookings more than 2 days out due to weather as forecasts are known to change.
If a school decides not to come on their booked date, even though the road is safely navigable, then Britannia Mine Museum will charge the Cancellation Fee or No Show Fee, which is payment in full.
Exhibit Time will be offered in lieu of Gold Panning in severely cold weather.
